Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara led Sri Lanka to a 92-run win over Bangladesh at the Cricket World Cup in Melbourne, Australia.

“Dilshan and Sangakkara were brilliant,” Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews told the BBC. “They batted us through, took calculated risks, it was a great effort. “We were slightly sloppy in the field and could have done better, but once you’ve got 300 on the board your bowlers can take chances. We’re all ready for the England game [in Auckland on Saturday].”

Sri Lanka moved into second place in Pool A with four points, while Bangladesh is tied for third with three points.

Said Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza, per the BBC: “Our bowlers weren’t up to the mark and hopefully in the next match we will improve. They [Sri Lanka batsmen Dilshan and Sangakkara] played well and showed their character today. I hope our next game will be our best in the tournament.”
