“Umm, 24. I ate McDonald’s my first couple years in the NBA. I didn’t stretch. It didn’t matter. I was 18 and I could do whatever I wanted to.”
At first glance, McDonald’s must be lovin’ it. Here’s one of the world’s most famous faces saying he ate at McDonald’s all the time. But when you consider the context — LeBron was talking about the bad habits of his youth — and the fact that McDonald’s pays James a reported $4 million a year to be a pitchman, it really doesn’t sound so good.
James, 30, later tried to walk (run) it all back when asked when asked about the last time he at at McDonald’s:
“Every day. Every day. Every day,” James said, to the delight of the massed reporters. “I had it this morning. Egg and sausage McMuffin. All day.”
