Anthony Bosch, owner of the Biogenesis clinic that supplied performance-enhancing drugs to some of baseball’s biggest names and to other athletes, was sentenced to four years in federal prison Tuesday in Miami.

The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Darrin Gayles and prosecutors indicated that it could be reduced if he cooperates further with their investigation. Bosch also was sentenced to three years of supervised release.

He had entered a guilty plea last October to charges of conspiracy to distribute testosterone to athletes from his Biogenesis of America clinic in Coral Gables, Fla. An investigation linked the clinic to several of the biggest names in sports, including Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees and Ryan Braun of the Milwaukee Brewers.

Yuri Sucart, A-Rod’s cousin, and Lazaro Collazo, the former University of Miami pitching coach, are expected to go on trial in April and Bosch and Rodriguez are expected to testify.
