Spanish soccer’s rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid is so strong that even when the teams aren’t playing each other, their fans will find ways to troll them.

The latest proof came on Sunday during a match between Barcelona and Levante, where a group of about 200 Barca fans chanted “Cristiano es un borracho” (“Cristiano is a drunk”). The chant, which came in the 65th minute of the match that Barcelona won 5-0 on Sunday was aimed at Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, who was nowhere near Camp Nou.

Liga de Futbol Profesional officials denounced the chants on Tuesday and said that they would look into the matter, Spain’s El Mundo reports. The evidence, which will reportedly come from videos like the one posted above, will be presented to the league’s Anti-Violence Committee, which will determine what if any sanctions Barcelona will face for what has been called inappropriate and anti-social behavior.

This matter may sound silly and overblown, especially since the only evidence that seems to suggest Ronaldo enjoys a tipple every now and again is this video of him dancing at his 30th birthday party, La Liga has become determined to nip bad behavior in the bud before it has the chance to grow larger. Per ESPNFC:

LFP president Javier Tebas and government ministers Jose Ignacio Wert and Miguel Cardenal have all previously said that insulting chants and songs constitute “symbolic violence,” which can lead to physical violence, while the official aim is to rid stadiums of all racist and xenophobic expressions.

This is not the first incident the two teams have gotten into it from afar. Real Madrid fans have been sanctioned in the past for inappropriate chants about Barcelona star Lionel Messi. In December, a group of 17 were banned from Real Madrid’s stadium for life, according to Cadena COPE reporter Paco Gonzalez, after they were caught chanting “Messi’s a retard.” Just as Ronaldo wasn’t at the game on Sunday, Messi was not at the game in December where the chants were heard.
