Barcelona star Gerard Pique made a fan out of a hater this week when he unknowingly came to the aid of an Espanyol supporter who injured himself in a motorbike accident.

Frans Aviles, who even got married on Espanyol’s grounds, admitted to Spain’s 8TV that he used to jeer Pique whenever he came on the field, but vowed to change his ways (although not his team support) on Wednesday after Pique went out of his way to check on and wait with him while an ambulance came to the Barcelona street.

Aviles was found to have a fractured fibula, but also now a mended heart, at least when it comes to hating his former foe Pique, who recently had his second child with girlfriend Shakira, a little less.

Late Wednesday, Aviles even sent Pique a tweet, saying, “Thank you for your attention in the accident today. Fractured fibula and back home!” He added, a hashtag that said, “However, I’m still a parakeet,” in reference to Espanyol’s nickname.

Pique did not respond.
