Miami Heat all-star Chris Bosh was admitted to a Miami hospital on Thursday for tests on his lungs, the Miami Herald and Associated Press are reporting. A team spokesman told the Herald that initial tests were inconclusive, and the AP is reporting that the team will know more Friday.
According to the Herald, Bosh began complaining of pain in his side near his rib cage while in New York last weekend for his 10th all-star game appearance (he won the Shooting Stars competition on All-Star Saturday and played 11 minutes in the game itself). He then traveled to Haiti for Carnival with his wife plus teammate Dwyane Wade and Wade’s wife, actress Gabrielle Union.
Returning to the Heat after the all-star break, Bosh tried to practice Wednesday but was not feeling well and was sent home. He then didn’t practice Thursday and did not travel with the team to New York for Friday night’s game against the Knicks.
“He wasn’t feeling good,” Wade told the AP on Thursday afternoon. “I don’t know what it was. He just wasn’t feeling good overall.”
Bosh is averaging 21.1 points — 13th in the league — and seven rebounds per game this season.
