Carmelo Anthony has long been dropping hints that he planned on having season-ending knee surgery in the very near future, and on Wednesday, news came that he’s about to make it official.
In case you hadn’t heard, the Knicks’ season has been a dumpster fire, and Anthony’s absence likely won’t change too much. He’s already missed 13 games with chronic pain in his left knee (the extent of which is unknown, at least publicly). And actually, as The Post’s Neil Greenberg points out, New York will get a better chance at the No. 1 pick with Anthony on the shelf.
After spending the first 17 years of his Post career writing and editing, Matt and the printed paper had an amicable divorce in 2014. He's now blogging and editing for the Early Lead and the Post's other Web-based products.
