Last week, word leaked out that the Cleveland Browns were getting a new logo, leading to much hullabaloo.
On Tuesday, they released the new logo.
“Our updated helmet logo is reflective of today’s modern Cleveland — the design honors the past while evolving into the future. The iconic brown and white stripes stand tall over the orange helmet — a new orange color that matches the passion of the Dawg Pound. The new brown facemask represents the strength and toughness of Cleveland,” the Browns write on their Web site (seriously, look!).
I guarantee someone got paid at least $125,000 to write that paragraph.
“The contemporary redesigned wordmark is simplistic and utilizes a stronger, bolder font,” the Browns write.
The team is unveiling a new uniform on April 14. One can only wonder at the stylistic advancements that await us.
