Kevin Hart, a four-time MVP of the NBA all-star celebrity game, says he will not participate next year. The pint-sized comedian confirmed the news on the Jim Rome Show on Thursday, citing Mo’ne Davis, who at 13 became a Little League World Series celebrity, as the reason.
“That little girl embarrassed me on live television,” Hart said (via SBNation). “It’s only going to get worse if I keep going back. I don’t want to see what’s going to happen next.”
Davis, who plays basketball nothing like a little girl, by the way, schooled her 35-year-old opponent on how it’s done with a spin move in the paint that led to an easy layup and two points.
In fairness to Hart, the standout athlete claims basketball as her No. 1 sport, and already plays on her local high school’s varsity squad.
Despite her prowess compared to Hart, however, the comedian still took home the night’s MVP award, which is given out according to fan votes. Davis, who’s shown a degree of maturity that defies her young age took it in stride.
“I mean, he actually deserved it,” she said (via USA Today). “He scored a lot of points, made great plays. He deserved it. I just wanted to go out there and have fun. And that’s what I did.”
