A large alligator hit the links at the Myakka Pines Golf Club in Englewood, Fla., last week — or at least that’s one theory. The other theory is that the, quite frankly, insane-looking dinosaur-like creature depicted in photographs published to the golf club’s Facebook page was superimposed onto the green thanks to Photoshop.
Myakka Pines officials denied the photos were altered in any way on Wednesday, noting on Facebook, “Lots of people think the pic is photo shopped….Nope! We just grown ‘em big in these parts!!”
The Washington Post reached out to Myakka Pines but has not yet heard back.
But considering Myakka Pines is located near the wetlands of the Myakka State Forest, the monster gator spotting doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility. Check out some of the previous gators spotted on the links.
