Cricket World Cup 2015: Australia beats Sri Lanka

A simple honest answer kept Glenn Maxwell from matching a Cricket World Cup record, but his Australia team beat Sri Lanka by 64 runs, advancing to the quarterfinals Sunday in Sydney.

Maxwell is credited with the second-fastest century in World Cup history as his first one-day international ton, reached off 51 balls, helped Australia in its total of 376-9. Maxwell failed to share in the fastest World Cup history, though and admitted afterward that he was unaware of the mark. From the BBC:

Kevin O’Brien holds the record of 50, set in a 2011 match between Ireland and England.
