Ndamukong Suh to sign with Miami Dolphins when NFL free agency opens, report says

Ndamukong Suh, the biggest (no pun intended) price in NFL free agency, reportedly will sign with the Miami Dolphins when the market officially opens Tuesday afternoon.

The defensive lineman who has spent his career with the Detroit Lions is expected to become one of the NFL’s highest-paid players no matter where he lands. But, ESPN reports that unless there is a breakdown in contract negotiations, Stephen Ross and the Dolphins will emerge the winners of the Suh sweepstakes. He is expected to agree to a deal that, according to Chris Mortensen, will pay him about $114 million with $60 million in guaranteed money. Mortensen explains where the deal would place Suh:

Suh’s talents come at more than just a monetary price. The player, who has been rated by his peers as the NFL’s dirtiest player, has often been fined for his on-the-field antics and was initially suspended for the Lions’ wild-card playoff game after stepping on the ankle of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. However that suspension was overturned.

He’s a risk for any time, but a risk that any of 32 teams would deem worth taking.
