The Jacksonville Jaguars will reportedly sign free-agent outside linebacker Dan Skuta not long after the market officially opens on Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.

ESPN insider Adam Caplan has the news of the Jags' impending acquisition:

Skuta appeared in 30 regular-season games with the San Francisco 49ers over the past two years, making 18 starts in that span. The 28-year-old veteran registered five sacks in 2014.

Jeff Deeney of Pro Football Focus highlights how Skuta has excelled during the past two seasons in San Francisco:

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport alluded to how busy Jacksonville general manager Dave Caldwell and Co. have been in trying to upgrade the team's talent-starved roster:

Head coach Gus Bradley has to be thrilled that the likes of Skuta and Jared Odrick are reportedly arriving soon. Chris Perkins of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported on Monday that Odrick and the team have agreed to terms. The Jaguars ranked 22nd against the pass and 27th versus the run last year.

Bradley was Seattle's defensive coordinator before taking his current job, and he's yet to produce great results in his area of expertise.

Marked improvement is necessary, particularly with Bradley and Caldwell entering their third season with the organization. Jacksonville's front office seems to sense the urgency.

A lot of the team's progress will likely hinge on how well young quarterback Blake Bortles fares. However, Skuta will bring a physical style of play and a strong motor over from his time with the 49ers, which bodes well for what Bradley is trying to build.
