The Oakland Raiders have reportedly agreed to terms with free-agent linebacker Curtis Lofton on a three-year contract. Financial details weren't immediately released.

Michael C. Wright of ESPN broke the news:

ESPN's Josina Anderson received confirmation from Lofton and provided the contract length:

Lofton spent the first four years of his career with the Atlanta Falcons before moving to the division rival New Orleans Saints for the past three. He's tallied 885 tackles, 11 forced fumbles, seven sacks and three interceptions in 112 career games.

The 28-year-old Oklahoma product should provide a stabilizing influence in the middle. The Raiders already have the intriguing tandem of Khalil Mack, who looked like a star on the rise as a rookie, and Sio Moore on the outside.

Lofton hasn't missed a single regular-season game since being drafted in 2008. That type of durability always helps limit the risk of a free-agent signing. He's also coming off a year where he made 145 tackles, showcasing his effectiveness against the run.

All told, it seems like an ideal fit.
