Bears reportedly will trade Brandon Marshall to the Jets

So much for the notion that there never are any big trades in the NFL, because it looks like we’re about to see the second major deal in less than a week.

Marshall is a five-time Pro Bowler. Over his past three seasons with the Bears, he has 279 catches for 3,524 yards and 31 touchdowns. He gives the Jets a formidable receiving tandem along with Eric Decker. Percy Harvin, meanwhile, seems likely to get cut.

Now all the Jets need is a viable quarterback, but with the No. 6 pick in this year’s draft, they could be in line to take Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota.

Nothing official has been announced yet, but as for what the Jets are giving up …
