Dustin Penner apologizes for Twitter jokes about rape that cost him a TV job

Dustin Penner has apologized for joking about rape on Twitter, a decision that meant he will will not be participating in TSN’s coverage of Monday’s NHL trade deadline.


The network confirmed to Yahoo that Penner, a 32-year-old free agent who most recently played for the Washington Capitals, would not be working with “Cabral ‘Cabbie’ Richards to give a different-type of take on the deadline,” according to the Puck Daddy blog.


By Sunday evening, Penner was apologetic.
