In January, William and Melissa Callahan of Spring Hill, Fla., called the police after discovering that Melissa’s Discover card had been stolen along with a Best Buy gift card. Among the charges the thief racked up on the credit card was $608 to purchase season tickets and a number of individual-game tickets to Tampa Bay Buccaneers games.

That’s funny, the Callahans must’ve thought. Our good friend and neighbor Anthony Sagglioca had just treated us to a Bucs game, saying he had “bonus tickets.”

It tuns out Anthony Sagglioca’s real name was Anthony James David, and he had a history of fraud-related offenses, the latest coming when he allegedly stole the Callahans’ credit card and bought all sorts of stuff, including tickets to the game at which he “treated” the Callahans.

“Obviously, the victims were unaware the game they were attending had been purchased using their stolen credit card,” the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

David was arrested on Feb. 27 and charged with 10 counts of theft of personal identification information, plus fraudulent use of a credit card, grand theft and dealing in stolen property. His bond was set at $29,000. Hopefully he didn’t use the Callahans’ Discover card to pay it.

Though there’s always the Underhills.
