A couple of weeks ago, Iggy Azalea, the girlfriend of the Los Angeles Lakers’ Nick Young, explained that he is terrified of dolphins because one once tried to kill him.

Swaggy P felt the need to elaborate and said that the dolphin in Cabo “was playing with everybody else, doing what dolphins do — the ‘ack ack’ and all that. It was my time to ride the dolphin. For some reason, he took me all the way to the bottom. He was trying to drown me. But I saw it happening so I jumped out of the water and took off the little life vest and threw off my little water shoes and stayed outside.”

For some reason, ESPN anchor Robert Flores chose to make a joke about Iggy, referring to the day of the dolphin in a way that really wasn’t funny.

“We learned that, according to the Lakers’ Nick Young, a dolphin recently tried to kill him,” he said. “So, Nick, while dolphins are trying to kill you, your girlfriend is trying to kill hip-hop. Let’s call it even, okay?”

We all have our terrors and our musical tastes and Swaggy, who thought Flores crossed the line, stepped up with a spirited defense of “my chick.”

It’s probably a good idea for Flores to avoid the Staples Center for a while.
