San Diego Chargers reportedly join list of teams hoping to land Ndamukong Suh

The San Diego Chargers joined the increasingly long list of teams hoping to woo free agent defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported via Twitter Saturday afternoon.

The Chargers will have some fierce competition for Suh, however, who is aiming to become the highest-paid defensive player in the league. Suh is expected to meet with the Oakland Raiders next week, and the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars and Detroit Lions have all indicated that they too could offer Suh his $100 million-plus dream contract.

Suh might be a fine fit for the Chargers, but it’s still highly unclear which team will land him. With Suh’s reported visit set up to Oakland next week, many have assumed they might have been the front-runner. But things can change by the minute. According to Yahoo Sports reporter Charles Robinson, the Dolphins might now be in first place in the race to employ Suh.

Bleacher Report’s Ian Wharton put the brakes on that rumor, though. While he confirmed his sources told him the Dolphins are optimistic, Wharton insists nothing has been worked out.
