Chip Kelly has a pointed lesson for people who thought the Philadelphia Eagles coach couldn’t top last year’s surprising move when he allowed DeSean Jackson to leave and wind up in Washington.
Kelly offered up another shocker Tuesday night, when he traded running back LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills for linebacker Kiko Alonso. It’s a little early to know how this deal will work out because it won’t even become finalized until Tuesday, but most NFL players were stunned by it.
There are statistical reasons,though, behind Kelly’s thinking, numbers other than the enormous cap hit from McCoy.
