Okay, Andrew Paterson isn’t hearing cheers as he works his part-time job at a grocery store in Scotland, but that didn’t keep him from announcing that he had reupped with the market as if he were a big-time athlete. Paterson, a student at Edinburgh’s Heriot-Watt University, shared photos in which he was signing on the dotted line and holding up his Asda “jersey,” proudly proclaiming that he “will continue working weekends for the near future” with a tweet that has been shared and favorited over 40,000 times.

Take that, Luis Suarez.

Hey, Asda, give the guy a raise. Or at least a signing bonus.

After spending most of her career in traditional print sports journalism, Cindy began blogging and tweeting, first as NFL/Redskins editor, and, since August 2010, at The Early Lead. She also is the social media editor for Sports.
